Supported by 2010 Legacies Now and the Province of BC, Spirit of BC is a province-wide initiative that promotes the values of community innovation, pride and excellence to create unique and lasting legacies for British Columbians leading up to and beyond the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Spirit of BC Mission
The Spirit of BC Program will inspire local citizens and engage current and future community leaders in the economic, cultural, and social success of their communities and celebrate the ambitions and achievements of individuals and the community as a whole.
It will collaborate with government, business, educators and local community-based organizations to ensure that legacies address the strengths, needs and opportunities in each community, including literacy, the arts, health, sport, and recreation.
The Spirit of BC Program will develop a deep and rich community resource of volunteers committed to the values of sustainable and engaged communities, healthy living practices and lifelong learning. As committed community leaders, Spirit of BC volunteers will value partnership, diversity, creativity and community spirit.
Langley Spirit of BC - Mission Statement
The Langley Spirit of BC Community Committee, through the membership of civic, cultural, educational, sports and business leaders, will provide the expertise to maximize opportunities presented by the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Supporting all residents of the Langleys, the sub-committee will play a leading role in every aspect of capitalizing on initiatives available before, during and after 2010.
Langley Spirit of BC is a registered non-profit society. Supported by 2010 Legacies Now and the Province of BC, Spirit of BC is a province-wide initiative that promotes community innovation, pride and excellence, and involves British Columbians in the opportunities arising from the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
